Possibly the Mr Gordon whom Zoffany included in his Tribuna (Windsor),1 and the Gordon, 'uffiziale inghilese', with the Young Pretender, Lord and Lady Caryll and Mr and Mrs [Patrick] Home, at Siena on 1 August.2 A Gordon left Venice on 26 October 1774.3

A well-travelled Scot whom the Wynnes first found very amiable; he saw them frequently in Florence in the summer of 1796, but in Naples in January 1797 the cordiality had worn off (Wynne Diaries, 2:85,87, 123, 149).
